Prof. Saroj Chandrasekhar Memorial Award to Riyanka Kumari, Ph.D. Student

Ms. Riyanka Kumari has been selected as one of the Primary Awardees for the Prof. Saroj Chandrasekhar Memorial Award 2024. This award includes a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh and a certificate. This annual award is presented to two women candidates who are in the third year or beyond of their doctoral programme. This award is instituted by the Chandrasekhar Foundation in memory of Prof. Saroj Chandrasekhar, who made significant contributions in tuberculosis research.

The research work entitled "A novel mass spectrometry-based multiplexed targeted assay for first line screening of thalassemia and hemoglobin sequence variants: An application in newborn screening" was selected as best paper and awarded at the 30th Annual Conference of Association of Medical Biochemists of India (AMBICON 2023) held at Navi Mumbai.
