Participants

Akhilandeswarre D. obtained her M. Sc. degree in Microbial Gene technology from Madurai Kamaraj University, Tamil Nadu. Currently, she is pursuing her Ph. D. degree in Biotechnology under the guidance of Dr. Sabu Thomas in the Cholera Research Lab of Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Kerala. She is involved in identifying potential drug targets for inhibiting biofilm formation in the pathogenic members of Vibrionaceae family employing transcriptomic and proteomic techniques.

Karthika S. obtained her M.Sc. degree in Biotechnology from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and currently pursuing her Ph.D. degree under the guidance of Dr. Sabu Thomas at Cholera Research Lab, Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Kerala. Her research involves identifying the role of bacterial biofilm in non-healing chronic Diabetic ulcers.

Dr. Paresh Sharma obtained his Ph. D. degree in Molecular Parasitology from BITS, Pilani, Rajasthan. He did his post-doctoral work in Malaria Biology at NIAID, National Institute of Health, USA from 2010-2013. He joined the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology in January 2013 as Scientist C. His research interest involves understanding the genetic basis of disease in domestic animals. He is also keen to develop rapid diagnostic kit for various livestock diseases.

Dr. A. Riyasdeen obtained his Ph. D. degree at Department of Animal Science, Bharathidasan University, Tami Nadu, under the guidance Prof. M. A. Akbarsha. His research focused on therapeutic evaluation of transition metal complexes on cancer cell line through apoptotic pathways. He is currently working on proteomic analysis and therapeutic evaluation of snake venom.
